This unassuming donut shop is home to Stan's donuts, which has been around since 1959. It tastes like nostalgia with really good old fashioned donuts like we had in our childhood.
When I first came to this store, it was literally mostly empty shelves because they were sold out except for some glazed donuts and even then there were still people queuing up to get a Stan's donut! I thought, what's the hype? But as soon as you bite into a donut, you understand. The inside is pillowy soft and the exterior is crunchy with the glaze. Best part is that one of these famous glazed donuts is only $1.50!
In any case, back to the point of this post. They have large apple fritters but they're only available on Mondays (and $3 each). So we were lucky to snag one. Biting into it made me think, "mm this is the best Apple fritter I've ever had!" And it wasn't just me, my husband had the same thought!
If you plan to order a bunch of donuts, it's best to call in the order ahead of time. Then you don't have to wait in the long line. Note that they only accept cash or check.
To see all the flavors available, check out the menu on their website here. Looking at the menu, I want to try everything. They have cake donuts, old fashioned ones, maple glazed, French crueller, jelly-filled, and much more. We also got donut holes which are only available Monday to Wednesday at $3 for 12.
(Bet you can't stop at just one donut hole!)
Enjoy and let me know what you order there!
