DIY for Valentine's Day: Single Roses

Updated: Feb 18

Back with my latest flower project! For Valentine's Day, I wanted to wrap some roses for my little one to give to his teachers!

First I bought a bouquet of red roses (I think red makes it look more classic) and some baby breaths for filler. It is so hard to buy red roses on the evening of Feb 13 by the way, which may be obvious to others but I guess it was my first time buying flowers for Valentine's. I think Costco has more availability that day.

Even though it looks fairly straightforward to make, it actually took me many hours 😆. I prepped all the materials the night before, cut the flowers/cellophane paper/ribbon to the right length, and had the roses sitting in a vase of water. Then the morning of Valentine's Day, I woke up early to assemble and wrap - which also took me awhile because I wanted it to look pretty when wrapped. Sometimes I had to trim/adjust the baby breaths if it looked too crowded and so the rose didn't look squished. Needless to say, there was lots of wrapping and unwrapping and rewrapping. 😛

In the end, I think it turned out alright for my first time!

If I had more time, I would've wrapped a lot more and passed it out to more people in my life who I appreciate. Ah well, maybe next year!
