On Monday, May 27, 2024 Dumpling Hours opened up on Bryant Street in downtown Palo Alto (off University Ave.) They have existing locations in Walnut Creek, Oakland, and Brentwood with very good reviews there too!
It was bustling with customers but luckily we snagged a table for our group. Everything is brand new!
The menu is quite extensive with Xiao long bao, dumplings, noodles, soups, and more.
We ordered a ton and everything was really good. The dumpling skin was very soft and the soup dumplings were very soupy! 😛 I didn't take a lot of pics because we were too busy scarfing down dumplings to make enough room on the table for more dishes that kept coming out from the kitchen!
The star of the show, the pan fried pork buns. Crispy on the bottom and juicy on the inside. My favorite dish. I ate so many until I couldn't eat anymore.
My second favorite was the XLBs (Xiao long baos), we had regular, spicy, and crab ones. All were good, I think I like regular and crab ones best.
We also got noodles which were okay.
Overall we had a great time at Dumpling Hours. I would say the dumplings rival Din Tai Fung and the wait is shorter here. Will definitely come back!
(Note it is also across the street from Ramen Nagi with a forever long line!)
