Fresh Handmade Tortillas at Zaida's Kitchen featuring Gluten-Free Oaxacan Mexican Food

Updated: Feb 6

We have eaten here 3 times in 3 weeks! We first tried their tacos at the Sunnyvale Farmers Market on Murphy Ave on Saturdays. They were so delicious that we went back and had more tacos the following week and then tracked them down at the Stanford Farmers Market on Tuesdays.

What sets their tacos apart is that they use stone ground organic corn masa. Then when you order, they literally grab a ball of dough, press it right there, and cook it on their grill. Their tortilla is really the star of the show when you eat a taco, quesadilla or any of their other offerings.

All their food is gluten free including their Mexican wedding cookies (made from almond flour). And they use Mary's all natural chicken and pasture raised pork. They don't use industrial seed oils but use extra virgin olive oil instead. They use vegan cheese and have a cashew cream option. Honestly it tastes like regular cheese! Here's the menu:

Schedule of where you can find them (they also have a food truck):

Here is the beautiful owner, Chef Zaida Soriano herself. She's also so friendly and kind!

Apparently she is hosting a trip that's a food and art tour of Oaxaca, Mexico! That sounds like so much fun and delicious food! More details here.

Overall, the food here is really good and I appreciate her approach to cooking with using high quality ingredients. Everything tastes homemade and made with love and warmth!

We even ordered plain tortillas to bring home for taco night tonight 😂.
