DIY Hostess gift: White floral arrangement

Updated: Feb 5

While I was at Trader Joe's, I picked up some flowers to make an arrangement. I wanted to bring a floral bouquet as a little hostess gift for a friend who was making lunch for us. 💐

I picked out white tulips, white mums, and white lilies. I trimmed them and put them in a tall vase and voila, here's how it turned out!

For the design: I tried to line tulips around the outermost edge of the bouquet. Then put the mums in the center to make it have a more rounded symmetrical shape. Then the lilies I stuck in and purposely made them taller so they would stick out a bit from the rounded shape of the mums. I think the green leaves from the tulips add some nice leafy green contrast to the bouquet too. I tried adding a ribbon to the vase but it ended up distracting from the flowers, so I left it bare. The flowers wouldn't stay put exactly as I imagined them, but overall I think it worked out! And it was less than $30 for all the flowers!

With the leftover flowers, I had enough to make a tiny cute arrangement to spruce up our dining table at home.

My flower arranging skills are still a work in progress, but the pursuit of making beautiful things makes me happy, so I will keep at it! 🥰
