Gifts for Kids at KiwiCo Pop-up Shop on Castro Street in Mountain View

Updated: Feb 4, 2023

This pop-up recently opened in downtown Mountain View on Castro Street! It's a fun place to browse around with toy STEM kits for kids.

I believe the kits cater to all age groups from infants to 14 years old, according to their website: kiwico.com. Many of the kits are available for demo, so it's a very interactive store. Lots of families in the store.

These kits would make great gifts or for whenever you want to entertain a kid for a period of time. They have everything from science, electronics, geography, arts and cooking kits. They're meant to encourage kids to build and innovate. The hubby was especially interested in one kit for building your own speakers (so I guess these are also toys for adults :P). I was personally interested in the bread and butter making kit!

They even have this stuffed frog that you can "dissect" LoL. Omg I remember frog dissecting in 7th grade science class - smelly and gross. This looks much more.. friendly.

You can buy the kits as one-off, or you can subscribe for a monthly box delivered to you, which I think is how the company started.

It's a fun little space with a train in the front and table space for kids to do some drawing, and a marble wall in the back.

Check out the pop-up shop at

285 Castro St.

Mountain View, CA 94041

Or online at kiwico.com.

Fun fact: the KiwiCo headquarters is in Mountain View. So cool that it's a local business!
