Little Lao Set at Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine in Menlo Park

We discovered this during the pandemic when things were still pretty locked down and people weren't dining in much to eat at restaurants. We would order for pick up and then eat in our cars - so glamorous I know.

Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine which you may know as a popular Thai fusion place in SF also had a Farmhouse Thai Express location in San Leandro. This was back in 2020. They had this amazing deal for a Little Lao Set which was this beautiful spread of food for only $60!

Plus it came with 2 complimentary drinks (we chose thai ice teas) PLUS a free kid's meal (we chose pad see you). It comes in this large catering party tray and it's meant for 2 people but it can certainly feed more! It's a literal feast for your eyes and tummy.

It's a fun adventure to try with someone too! There's 2 of each item and so many different flavors. And you'll have plenty of leftovers afterwards.

We were thrilled to hear that they opened up a Menlo Park location and we ate there for my hubby's birthday. We ordered the Little Lao set again and this time it came like this. I mean it looks just as impressive as the first time we saw it, and you don't have to balance it in your lap lol.

We went in a large group and ordered other dishes too. I honestly don't remember what the dishes were called but the fish on the left was really good!

The ambience inside is nice too - insta worthy!

Even the hot water comes in this fancy presentation!

For a time, they actually removed the Little Lao Set from their togo menu which was really sad! Because I feel like by far and away, it beat out every other togo experience I've ever had during, before, and after the pandemic.

But good news! As I'm writing this post, I checked out their menu and omg lucky for you and me, it's back! "The Little Lao Table" is available for a limited time from their Menlo Park location and it includes: Neua Num Tok rolls, Samosas, Egg rolls, Vegan fresh rolls, Papaya Salad, Panang Neua Short Rib, Hat Yai Fried Chicken, Thai Fried rice prawns, Pad Thai tofu, Spicy Eggplant, Blue Rice & Fried egg! I don't see drinks/kids meal included but that's okay. The price has increased to $99 now, but I think it's still worth it and I would get it again.

Now this price is for special for togo because if you order the set for dine-in, it is more expensive. Checking the menu now, it looks like it's not available for ordering on weekends and you can only get it on weekdays. And it's $179 - quite a steep price! I don't know if I would get it as dine-in, but for special occasions maybe!

In any case, try out the Little Lao Set to go before they take it away! Or check out their dine-in locations throughout the Bay. Their Hat Yai Fried Chicken dish is good too.

Looks like they also have a weekday lunch special for $28 that includes 2 appetizers, 1 entree, and vegetable Tom Yum Soup.

Happy eating!
