These taste like delicious fresh tacos from an authentic taco truck, but it's from a storefront! So you can get it anytime! (Well whenever they're open.)
Tacos Al Vapor Michoacan has come to downtown Los Altos on Main Street. It recently opened a few weeks ago, and it took the place of the old T4 bubble tea shop (across from Citibank).
The inside is simple (not a lot of decor) but has everything you need, some seating and a bar of salsas with a heaping pile of tortilla chips that you can help yourself to for free. There is a constant flow of customers coming in, even in the afternoon past lunchtime.
Here is the menu. They have tacos (with 10 types of meat!), burritos, quesadillas, nachos, tortas, and plates.
We got Rigo's Combo which is 8 tacos plus a can of soda / water bottle for a good deal at $21.99. Or tacos are $3 each. I split half with my husband so we ate 4 each. It was gosh darn tasty!! I don't even know which flavor was what, but they were all good. Tortilla was soft and amazing. The meat was flavorful. Squeeze on the lime, pour on some salsa, and you are good to go!
We gobbled it down and left satisfied. We will be back! Welcome to the neighborhood :). They have other locations throughout the Bay like Burlingame and San Mateo and more.
