Hello ramen fans! Orenchi has come to Downtown Los Altos and is now open! It's located as a food stand within the State Street Market. State Street Market is a food hall with different food options, kind of like a mall food court but much more upscale. There's lots of open seating in the center and food vendors lined around the building.
State Street Market is in the midst of revamping all the vendors, so Orenchi is one of the new ones that recently opened.
I ordered the Orenchi Ramen and here it is. It was yummy, I ordered the regular size but could have used more noodles. If they do have a bigger size, I would order it next time.
Actually I'm not a ramen connoisseur, so I can't tell the difference between all the ramen shops I've been to, but this one is tasty and has good broth. I think I ate at Orenchi in Redwood City as well, but haven't been to their original location yet.
Here's the menu. Oh I see in very fine small print that there is a larger size for $2.50 more.
I also noticed they sell pastries too! From Ikuka, which I had never heard of, but it seems like it's from the owners of Sumika, Orenchi, and La Casa Mia.
The pastries looked quite fancy and tempting so I would like to try them next time! Especially the strawberry cake.
I hope to write more about the other vendors in State Street Market as I try them! Until then, enjoy this one!
