We were in downtown Los Gatos and were searching for a nearby bakery to get a snack, and we stumbled upon Kandoo Patisserie & Cafe which was about 11 mins away.
Their display is ohh la la la! with many desserts, pastries, and ice cream flavors available. No photo because I was too busy drooling over everything.
We had no idea what to try, but we overheard another customer saying that she drives 30 mins to come to this place and has a lot of favorites. We asked her what she recommends and she pointed out several things for us.
We ended up trying this French brownie (which looks like a mushroom!) and a
Napoleon. The brownie was interesting, topped with whipped cream and a chocolate shell, it was okay. But the Napoleon was my fave - really crispy and not too sweet and just delicious. It's hard to cut with a fork without it flaking everywhere and getting smooshed, so we just held it with our hands to take a bite. We also had something that was a like a fried donut ball that's covered in honey. That was a little too sweet for me, but fun to try.
Inside, we also sampled some of the Persian Zafron ice cream (such a unique and complex flavor)!
There's plenty of outdoor seating as well, to sit and enjoy your pastries in downtown Saratoga - quiet and peaceful on a Sunday afternoon. Next time I want to get that ice cream and some tea too, and try the baklava! There's also a thin and long pastry called the tongue (when translated) and I want to try that too!
They have a cute little bee as their logo too, that's on everything from their windows, to boxes, cups, and napkins. Just look for the bee!
Check out their website for more pics.
