In a very unassuming corner shop on the first floor of a big apartment complex building in Palo Alto sits Fambrini's Cafe. If you're driving by on El Camino, it's easy to miss this place unless you know it's there and you're closely for it. Though maybe the long line outside it on the weekends could catch your attention.
This family owned cafe has a lot of choices to offer! Especially sandwiches, salads, coffee, and oh-so-tempting dessert bars in the display case that are calling out your name as you wait in line to order your sandwich.
We came for sandwiches and they did not disappoint. They are big and packed with flavor. I forget which exact sandwiches we ordered, but there's lots of pictures of people's sandwiches on Yelp so I'm sure you could use that to help you choose. There's really so many sandwiches that sounds delicious to choose from, but unfortunately you only have one belly.
Depending on what you order, there's hot or cold sandwiches, and also breakfast sandwiches too! What you may be able to already tell from the pictures is that all the ingredients are very fresh, and it's a wonderful combo of flavors (not dry at all). Even though the sandwich is cut in half, a half is quite a handful to hold and can get messy, but alas, it's worth it.
We also splurged some calories on a raspberry dessert bar too and it was pretty good. But really, I would come back for the sandwiches and try some other flavors.
There's also ample seating in the patio area outside the cafe, so you can enjoy your lunch outside either in a shaded area or catch some sunshine.
If you haven't already, stop by for brunch / lunch sometime! See menu. Note, at the time of this post, it looks like they're usually open from 9:30am or 10:30am to 3pm.
