Shabu meats from Meat House in Mountain View for hot pot at home

Writer: Try Bay AreaTry Bay Area

We typically get our thing sliced shabu meats from Hankook supermarket, but we discovered that Meat House in downtown Mountain View by the caltrain station also carries a wide selection of shabu meats!

The store is pretty simple, just a bunch of freezers lining the walls.

The lady who works there says the ribeye and short rib are pretty popular. We ended up getting a box of ribeye and a box of wagyu, which came out to just over $42. (Each box is 1 lb of meat).

If you see the signs with the pricing, there's also a member price listed. If you join their annual membership (I think it's $58?) then you get the member pricing which is a bit cheaper.

They also have fish balls, snakehead fish, hot pot broth kits, and other meats too.

The meat we got was really tasty, I liked the wagyu! We put it into this one pot dish with cabbage, tofu, mushrooms, fish balls, and noodles. And the kids slurped it all up! For the recipe, check out Rina Takagi's 10 minute dinner for her husband.
