Taiwanese Bento Box Lunch Special at Red Hot Wok in Palo Alto

Occupying the former location of Mandarin Roots on El Camino Real, Red Hot Wok has come to Palo Alto (the original one is in Cupertino).

I heard they have a bento box lunch special so I came to check it out!

Nice ambience inside. There isn't usually a wait, though the tables can fill up on the weekends.

Here is the lunch special menu (Tues - Fri except holidays). This place is closed Mondays. They have bento boxes from $14.95 to $16.95 and aside from the entree, it includes rice, two side dishes, and a soup.

From my experience at Red Hot Wok in Cupertino, their specialists are Three Cup dishes (like Three Cup chicken) and also their moon shrimp cake is really good.

So I picked the three cup chicken bento box! Note it's boneless, whereas the three cup chicken entree from the main menu does have bones. Also if you were wondering what's the difference between three cup chicken and sizzling chicken, it's just the sauce.

It was a good amount of food and variety for this price, and I had leftovers too.

My hubby ordered from the main menu and got these dishes. Three Cup squid:

Noodles

You can also ask for some hot sauce and this homemade sauce was pretty good!

Good food at a good price! And you know me, I can't resist a lunch special haha!

P.S. they have outdoor seating as well which would be nice when the weather warms up.
