I've usually bought shoes for myself online or in department stores or the mall, but never at a speciality store. Until getting baby's first shoes at Howard's Shoes for Children.
Yes, they are more pricey than buying online, but I enjoy their great customer service. They help you measure your child's feet, find a shoe that fits your interests, and checks the fit of the shoes on the child. They're very knowledgeable about kid's shoes brands, so they can share recommendations on what brands are good for feet that are still developing/growing, and which brands are more for fashion. For someone like me who had no clue about what brand or type of shoe to get for a baby, I welcome the experience!

They have a wide selection of shoes for babies, toddlers, boys, and girls. And crocs galore too (hello, every color of crocs!) They're located in Town & Country Village in Palo Alto.

P.S. If you got to their site, I believe they have a $10 off discount for the first pair of walking shoes going on now! To set your expectations, a pair of shoes can run you $50 - $70 / pair. Yes, kids shoes are shockingly pricey for their tiny feet!
